This report provides a schedule of the parades held on Staten Island each year.

We update parades and festival events as we approach the event date. This year Only Asterisked events have been updated to 2026. Pay attention to the dates / year.

The parades we feature not only include the majors but also the minors and the new ones as we become aware of them. We expect to add about 5 to 10 new parades or events to each month as the year progresses. As the year unfolds, you will be able to scroll down to see for yourself.

• Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 8 to 12 midnight - Freedom Ball at LiGreci's Staaten at 697 Forest Avenue on Staten Island. A colonial dress event [19th century Western attire is recommended] celebrating African American history. The event includes a three course dinner, dancing and live performance. Tickets in 2024 were $1200 for a table or $150 for an individual. The 2025 proceeds go toward the 4th Annual Juneteenth Parade in Tappen Park in June 2025 on Staten Island. • * Sunday, March 1, 2026 beginning at 12.30 pm - 62nd Annual Staten Island St Patricks Day Parade - lines up between 11.30 am - 12.30 pm [after a church service at Blessed Sacrament in West Brighton] between Victory and Hart Blvds along Forest Avenue [adjacent to Silver Lake Park] and marches west along Forest Avenue to Jewett Street. The parade has put the lesbian / gay boycott in its past [2025 was the first year of a unified parade] and is moving forward as a unified Irish whole this year. The parade is organized by the Richmond County St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee and not the Ancient Order of Hiberians.

• CLOSED IN 2025 & JOINED FORCES WITH THE PARADE ABOVE. Sunday, March 17, 2024 the 1st Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade from 11 am to 3 pm. It is organized by the Forest Avenue BID in a response to the ongoing boycott of gay marchers by the traditional Staten Island St. Pat's Day parade organizers [see above]. Since the controversy, attendance at the traditional parade fell off significantly, which has hurt the businesses along Forest Avenue and diminished the sense of unity within the community. An historical lecture by a SUNY History Professor about Staten Island and the Birth of the Revenue Cutter Service. This covers how SI became an early hub for federal maritime office, a quarantine area and how eventually the Quarantine Ground was destroyed. • * NYC _ Wednesday, April 1 - Thursday, April 9, 2026 - Passover. The Jewish celebration their flight from slavery in Egypt thousands of years ago. Communal feasts, also known as Seders are generally held the first night.

• * NYC _ Thursday, April 2, 3 & 5, 2026 - Christian Lent Ends, Holy Friday & Easter - celebrated respectively. Easter commemorates the Biblical stories of Christ's death on the cross and resurrection from the dead.

• * Lighthouse Hill _ Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 9 am to 3 pm - Estate Sale - at the Jaques Marchais Tibetan Museum at 338 Lighthouse Avenue on Lighthouse Hill in the Egbertville neighborhood of Staten Island. This is a fairly rare opportunity to purchase things the museum acquired, but didn't perfectly fit the collection. It's about as close to a museum sale as you'll get. • * NYC _ Friday, Saturday & Sunday, May 1, 2 & 3, 2026 at various locations & times but generally from 10 am to 5 pm - Janes Walk Weekend - at 200 locations in all five boroughs. Various art, culture, history, advocacy and architectural tours throughout all five boros of NYC. Free. They describe the event as follows, " ... MAS staff organize a fleet of volunteer walk leaders, to create 200+ FREE, in-person, virtual, and on-demand walks with over 10,000 participants ... During Jane’s Walk NYC weekend, the simple act of exploring the city is enhanced with personal observations, local history, and civic engagement."... Organized by the Municipal Art Society. • * NYC - Sunday, May 3, 2026 waves begin at 7.30, 8.30, 9.15, 9.50 and 10.30 am & officially over between 4 and 6 pm - 5 Boro Bike Ride. Assembly begins along Broaday, south of Canal Street down to Battery Park in Manhattan, depending on the cyclist wave folks are in. The course is 40 miles long, and most of the 32,000 cyclists finish in under 5 hours. It ends at Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island, where there's a finishing party that runs from 10 am to 5.30 pm.
