In the talk video referenced above, there is also information about vaccine access for those who may not be able to afford vaccinations on their own, as NYC and NYS have allocated funds to reduce / remove financial barriers to those who wish to be vaccinated but may not be able to afford the shots. In the video they also mention the NYC Health Map link where visitors can find locations where they may obtain access to vaccines, made affordable or free for eligible applicants. But please call 311 to find out how to go about qualifying first. Click this link to view the NYC Health Map, which also includes quite a bit of other health related information.

Trump Says $16 Billion NJ / NYS Hudson River Tunnel Project Terminated, but it is Not

Trump Cannot Make that Decision Unilaterally, so the Tunnel Project Continues

October 15, 2025 / Real Estate & Business. Trump said the Gateway Tunnel Project is terminated, even though Trump doesn't have the authority to unilaterally terminate projects authorized by Congress. The Trump Transportation Department said there aren't any official plans to terminate the $16 billion project. And the companies working on the Gateway Tunnel Project continued to do so.

https://subscriber.politicopro.com/article/eenews/2025/10/17/gateway-and-second-ave-subway-projects-still-alive-despite-trump-comments-ee-00611371

U.S. Constitutional Laws Surrounding the President's Ability to Halt Projects after Congressional Authorization - After you click the above link, type - unconstitutional withholding funds - in the search box, and then scroll down to January reports submitted by Senator Patty Murray of Washington. Murray's reports outline the laws / powers bestowed by the Constitution, to the legislative branch versus executive branch of government, surrounding the allocation and implementation of funding federally authorized projects.

https://www.appropriations.senate.gov

And yet the billionaire TV News seemed to disinform the American public by repeating and amplifying Trump's comments about halting the Gateway Tunnel Project, without an equal amount of context and corrections. Thus, TV News is once again leaving so many of those who rely on TV for their news, walking around with the false perception that Trump cancelled the Gateway Tunnel Project, which he is not unilaterally authorized to do. Some believe that Trump is making these comments in an attempt to try to influence some of the New York / New Jersey elections, most notably to attack Mamdani for NYC Mayor, and Mikie Sherrill for NJ Governor.

Penn Station Redevelopment Public Comment Period Begins October 31, 2025

Penn Station $7 Billion Renovation Project Planned to Begin in 2027

October 22, 2025 / NYC Real Estate & Business / NYC Transit. In March 2025, Stephen Gardner, stepped down as Amtrak CEO, in what seems like a Trump Administration personnel change. In May 2025, Andy Byford, a British National, was appointed to a Special Advisory role on Amtrak. Sometime this Spring [2025], the Trump Administration removed the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority [MTA] from its position as the lead agency on the Penn Station renovation project and put Amtrak in charge.

Byford is not allowed to become the CEO of Amtrak, as law requires that the CEO of Amtrak be an American. Byford was President of tne NYC Transit Authority from 2018 to 2020, which is the sum total of his experience in a managment role here. But he does have prior management experience in transit in Toronto and London, and in advisory roles here in the U.S., since about 2014. Construction is expected to begin some time in 2027.

Here's a link to the original plan, when it was still being managed by the NY MTA and the second link takes you to the Amtrak site media area, where I would expect them to post the public comment solicitation - BUT THIS IS UNCONFIMRED.

Let's All Work to Tone Down the Inflammatory Rhetoric

Local Republican Group Chat includes Racist, Sexist, Nazi-Supportive Texts

Vice President Vance Fails to Effectively Condemn Them, in a Manner Reminiscent of Trump's Response to Charlotteville in 2017

Vance Defends the Young Republicans, Citing the Inexcusable Texts in 2022 by a Democratic Attorney General Candidate in Virgina

Mother Used to Tell me "Two Wrongs Don't Make a Right"

October 15, 2025 / National Politics. Just over a week ago, the texts from a group chat of Young Republicans were released. They contained a number of racist, sexist remarks, with one of the participants even telling the group that he 'loved Hitler'. And there were NYC / NYS Republicans who participated in the group chat.

J.D. Vance response to this news wasn't impressive, as he dismissed the chat, comparing their indiscretion, to that of under age kids. This was reminiscent of Trump's response to the Charlottesville tragedy in 2017, wherein a number of Trump supporters openly expressed their support of the White Nationalist march in Charlottesville. At one of the events surrounding the march, one of the anti-march protesters was killed by one of the white nationalist supporters when he ran his car through a crowd. Trump's response to this incident was that, "... there are good people on both sides ...". While he may be right - that there are some good people on both sides - this skirts the issue of the violent behavior by one of the white nationalists, which resulted in someone's death.

Vance also skirted the issue of bad behavior, by pointing out, accurately, that in 2022 the current Virginia Democratic Attorney General candidate had texted something, to a Republican colleague, about putting two bullets into the body of someone he didn't like, instead of putting them into anyone else. This was also an incredibly stupid comment by a government official.

Nothing violent happened in connection with the texts by the Virginia AG candidate in 2022, nor in connection with the texts of the Young Republicans, which were recently discovered and publicized.

Doing the Right Things. My Mother used to tell me that two wrongs don't make a right, and I believe this statement to generally - but possibly not always - be true. I think we all - We, The People - need to do a better job of acting like adults, meaning calling people out for inappropriate comments, and calling them out for inappropriate behavior, since our 'leaders' aren't leading by example.

Billionaires are Rapidly Changing TV News & Not in a Good Way

Billionaires are Amassing a Huge Concentration of Mass Media Assets, in What Appears to be the Privately Owned Propaganda Press

nyc billionaire press tv network news privately owned propaganda press nycSeptember 18, 2025 / New York City News / NYC Billionaire Press Billionaire TV News & Free Speech in America / News Analysis & Opinion / Gotham Buzz.

All six TV Networks are controlled by billionaires [or folks whose wealth rounds up to billionaires or are members of billionaire families]. Increasingly they appear to be turning the TV networks into privately controlled propaganda machines. Too often they appear to resemble Rupert Murdoch's mistreatment of the truth in the news. This means they seem to omit key facts and even entire stories from view, while amplifying falsehoods and outright lies spoken by politicians and their teleprompter readers alike, which go uncorrected, leaving those who still trust Network TV News, ignorant and in the dark as to what's really going on in this country.

Network TV News Corps Appear to be Trading Journalistic Integrity for Media Market Share so they can Price More Aggressively. America Beware, as they will have Even More Influence over what you / we Americans see, hear & think.

Colbert was cancelled by CBS and numerous seasoned journalists departed for journalistic integrity reasons. CBS appeared to be compromising their integrity, as Colbert is the top rated show in the time period. But Trump doesn't like Colbert, and CBS had a merger deal that needed to be approved by the Trump Justice Department and FCC, so poof, Colbert cancelled. CBS denies this reasoning, saying they have other [unannounced] plans.

Disney / ABC paid off Trump in a lawsuit many attorneys were sure they could have easily won. And this week Disney / ABC took the Jimmy Kimmel Show off the air for making an opinionated comment of which Trump didn't approve, on the Kirk assassination shooter. Kimmel had joked that the shooter was a MAGA Republican which he does not appear to be, although reportedly the rest of his family is.

The alleged shooter was reportedly in a relationship with someone working through gender identity issues, which is just one of the many important issues of our day, that billionaire TV News repeatedly fails to fully inform upon. This link will take you to the Metropolitan Museum website, of a past photo exhibit, wherein in the mid 1800's a French photographer documented a hermaphrodite, which is someone with both male and female genitalia. That's a fact, that I have NEVER seen raised nor discussed by the flunkies on TV News, who don't seem to be knowledgeable about the world around them, and definitely far too often, just simply do not do their basic homework on important issues.

And the sad thing is that this translates to an increasingly ignorant American public, as up until this year TV was the dominant news source. This year news on the web FINALLY passed TV News, and I am hoping that that trend will accelerate as more Americans start paying attention to how badly TV News fails them, daily.

If you decide to click this link you'll encounter what is likely a shocker to most folks [was to me the first time I saw it at the Metropolitan Museum exhibit in the late 1990's]. But the idea isn't to shock, but rather to instruct - Metropolitan Museum photo exhibit by Nadar of hermaphrodite.

FEC Chelsea NYCHA Tenants Protest March Saturday at 12 noon & Men's and Women's U.S. Open Results

  • Saturday, September 13, 2025 beginning at 12 noon - FEC Chelsea NYCHA Tenants Protest March - begins in two separate places [1) the public park located at 19th Street & 9th Avenue & 2) Hudson Guild at 441 West 26th Street] and converges and ends at one destination which is on the west side of 9th Avenue at W. 24th Street. The reason they are marching is as follows: 1) Stop displacement of seniors and families – NYCHA’s plan would uproot elders who may never live to return by 2041. 2) Reject developer giveaways – Related/Essence and other private interests profit while tenants lose homes. 3) End manufactured crisis – NYCHA neglects repairs, leaves units vacant, then calls demolition the “solution.” 4) Defend community stability.

Men's and Women's U.S. Open results coming shortly.

The photo at right was taken in Central Park on the Great Lawn in a prior year. As the weather looks to be welcoming, getting a bit of fresh air and rays from the waning sun isn't a bad way to spend a few hours on a three day weekend.

NYC Specific Weather - This can be very Different vs TV News Area Weather. The temperature highs will be in the high 70's, and the temperature lows in the low to mid 60's for all three days of the long weekend. There's a tiny, tiny chance of a tiny, tiny amount of rain Friday afternoon [aka 0% & 0 inches as far as we're concerned], and then dry the rest of the long weekend. The humidity will also be dry, ranging from 60% on Friday, to 50% on Saturday and Sunday, and then back up to 60% on Monday. Winds will range from 5 - 10 mph all weekend.

Friday Evening Edition @ 10.30 pm. Just need to update the Brooklyn West Indian Parade and Carnival events in Brooklyn, which go on all three days and which we should have done by midday Saturday. Looks like the last summer weekend is going to be a good one. Enjoy.

Allegations of More Eric Adams & Associates Corruption

Not the Least of which is What Seems Flagrant Neglect to Maintain Integrity of NYPD Operations

NYC News & Weekend Briefs - Eric Adams Corruption Allegations Growing Again

The Scent of More Adams 'Related' Corruptions Continue to hit the Radar - And Network TV News Turns a Blind Eye

eric adams corruption allegations continue eric adams the most corrupt mayor in nyc modern times eric adams from nypd captain to crime captainSeparately, after three and a half years of 'getting stuff done' for billionaires and real estate developers, Adams has finally focused his attention on the working class voters of New York, handing out government money, in a manner that leads me to believe he thinks the public money is his own.

"Show Me The Money" Eric Adams famously used to say. We should have listened. Adams can't seem to shake all of the corruption allegations that surround him, the members of his administration and the Administration itself. Allegations of bribes, numerous staff indictments, including of Eric Adams who is the first sitting NYC Mayor to be indicted in office.

Public Advocate Jumaane Williams sent a letter to the Mayor this week, questioning his management of the oversight of the NYPD. Adams has employed Trump-style tactics in dismantling the checks and balances in the system that have kept American government relatively corruption-free in modern times. Editor's Note. NYC government is far from clean, as you can see by how all of the publicly owned / controlled real estate is transferred, 'legally', to billionaires [and or their real estate companies] who are friends of or have funded two of the last three mayors' campaigns. For further details see - Stephen Ross and Related Companies have been feeding at the public trough.

We'll have more about Adams and the NYPD later. But in the meantime - For details see - https://comptroller.nyc.gov/reports/letter-to-mayor-adams-re-urgent-concerns-regarding-oig-nypd-staffing-and-oversight-capacity/

In a lawsuit filed July 16, 2025, a former NYPD Commissioner, Thomas Donlon, accused Adams of operating the NYPD as if it was a "criminal enterprise". More to follow.

Stagflation, Adams Tepid Endorsements but Strong Real Estate Funding & U.S. Taxpayers Funding Israeli Expansionism and Efforts to Deprive Palestinians of a Homeland

August 15, 2025 / NYC Business & Economy / NYC Politics & Government / News Analysis & Opinion / Gotham Buzz NYC.

Stagflation May be Headed our Way

It Looks Like We May be Heading for a Stagflation Economy. According to 8.15.25 Yahoo Finance report, wholesale prices rose faster than expectations, up 0.9% in July, far faster than expectations. The core rate grew 3.7% vs an expected 3%. The Fed target rate is 2%. Services, not goods, were the driving force behind the inflation increase, and services are not tied to tariffs. We might be heading into a stagflation economy, where inflation continues or picks up, while jobs growth slows, as happened this month.

The contributors to a staglationary economy include that the U.S. dollar has lost 10% of its value since the beginning of the year. This means everything purchased outside of the U.S. will essentially cost 10% more to Americans. And tariffs will eventually add further to the inflation problem by increasing the cost of goods further.

TV News doesn't seem to understand that there's a lag time between when changes in the economy occur [like tariffs or currency valuation changes], and when the impact of them shows up at the cash register. Macroeconomic lag times range from three to eighteen months as these changes work their way through the economy. And speaking of TV News, it's worth mentioning that a stagflationary economy would be just the opposite of the 'Trump Economy' touted by Fox News during the Fall 2024 campaign cycle. For details see - https://finance.yahoo.com/news/why-hotter-than-expected-wholesale-prices-make-the-feds-september-rate-cut-decision-harder-155711746.html

Eric Adams Support Seems Fueled by Narrow Self Interests

things to do this weekend nyc weekend events manhattan queens brooklyn bronx staten island nyc weekend eventsIs Eric Adams Recycling Faith Based Campaign Endorsements? About a week ago, Eric Adams announced that he was being endorsed by 100 faith based leaders. The endorsements appeared to come from some of the same people who've been supporting Adams all along, some of whom I've seen at various mayoral events, and some of whom I believe stood with him when he announced his re-election bid as an Independent in June of 2025.

Earlier this week Adams also picked up an endorsement from former NYS Democrat Governor Paterson, who is legally blind, and who switched his allegiance from Cuomo in the Democratic primary, to Adams running as an Independent.

A group of police unions also endorsed Adams this week, but notably missing was the largest NYC police union, the NYPBA. The NYPBA had previously endorsed Adams in the 2021 election, reportedly unenthusiastically. This may be why the NYPBA is holding back their endorsement again, or it could be that the NY Patrolmens Benevolent Association union is not happy that Adams has sullied the name of the NYPD, having been charged in a lawsuit with turning the NYPD into his own personal "racketeering enterprise".

In Nearly Four Years has Eric Adams done Anything to Rein in Landlord Harassment & Slumlord Millionaires? News Analysis, Opinion & Insight. This story is not likely to show up on your TV screen in a timely fashion, because real news stories and real news insights rarely do. And too often, by the time they do, it's far too late to make a difference.

This is the trailer to a recent film that came out regarding landlord harassment in NYC, as well as about black and brown homeowner deed theft - neither of which Eric Adams appears to have done much about, during his nearly four years in office as NYC Mayor - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuuBlQJh86M

If you find the trailer interesting enough, you can watch the full one hour and 22 minute long film on PBS until 8.26.25 - at which time it expires. Viewing the film now is free, but it is preceded by two short PBS promos before the film begins - https://www.pbs.org/video/slumlord-millionaire-3sgi7g/

Eric Adams claims to be a pro housing Mayor. It is true that he's been very supportive of housing projects by billionaires and international investors. But Adams has not advocated much - if at all [eg. the Rent Guidelines Board rent increases during his one term in office] - for tenants. And he's not been a champion of the black and brown people to whom he tells what now seems his phony personal housing insecurity story. You know, the one about him bringing his clothes to school as a child for fear of eviction. This story wouldn't be the first nor the only lie he has publicly told New Yorkers. And Adams appears to be helping multi-billionaire real estate developer Stephen Ross move FEC NYCHA tenants out of their homes, so that Ross can grab even more NYC land than he already has.

But don't take my word for it.
