While generally Staten Island Street Fairs begin in April, this year we're going a bit deeper in the Winter quarter [January through March 2024], to identify some of the year round markets, which while not exactly street fairs, contain some of the elements of the street fair experience including an eclectic offering of merchandise and food items.

• * Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 7 to 11 pm - Freedom Ball at LiGreci's Staaten at 697 Forest Avenue on Staten Island. A colonial dress event [18th century Victorian garb] celebrating African American history. The event includes a three course dinner, dancing and live performance. Tickets are $1200 for a table or $150 for an individual. The proceeds go toward the 3rd Annual Juneteenth Parade in Tappen Park in June 2024 on Staten Island. MARCH 2024 - Staten Island Street Fairs, Festivals & Parades SI NYC

• * Sunday, March 3, 2024 the 59/60th Annual Staten Island St. Pat's Parade begins between 11.30 am / 12.30 pm [after a church service at Blessed Sacrament in West Brighton]. They begin at Harts Blvd marching along Forest Avenue in the Westerleigh / Elm Park neighborhoods to Jewett Avenue, in the West New Brighton neighborhood of Staten Island. The parade lasts about one to two hours, but the celebrating continues after the parade. Staten Island street fairs / parades in the New Brighton neighborhood of Staten Island. Members of the LGBTQ community continue to be banned from openly marching in the parade. The parade is organized by the Richmond County St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee and not the Ancient Order of Hiberians.

• * Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 11 am to 2.30 pm - Indoor Market at New Dorp Moravian Church at 2205 Richmond Road on Staten Island. There will be about a dozen and a half vendors selling arts, crafts, body & bath, clothing, jewelry, handbags, accessories, gifts and pet related items. Free entry.

• * Sunday, March 17, 2024 the 1st Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade from 11 am to 3 pm. It is organized by the Forest Avenue BID in a response to the ongoing boycott of gay marchers by the traditional Staten Island St. Pat's Day parade organizers [see above]. Since the controversy, attendance at the traditional parade fell off significantly, which has hurt the businesses along Forest Avenue and diminished the sense of unity within the community.   • OLD _ NOTE DATE / YEAR _ Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 11 am - 3 pm, starting at Jodys Club at 372 Forest Avenue there's the first Crawl for All St Patricks Day weekend bar crawl. The event is being organized by folks associated with the Pride Center of Staten Island who would like the St Patricks Day parade on Staten Island, to join all other St Patricks Day parades in NYC, by eliminating the discriminatory practice of forbidding people who are both members of Irish and LGBTQ communities, from participating in the parade. Inclusivity rather than exclusivity. Because the Staten Island St Pat's Day Parade continues to lose both audience and participation, the organizers wanted to mitigate some of the St Pat's Parade business losses by local businesses, by organizing the Crawl for All. • * Saturday, March 30, 2024 beginning at 10 am and 1 pm, there's Easter at the Mount [Loretto] at 6541 Hylan Blvd in the Charleston neighborbood of Staten Island. Mount Loretto is hosting a couple of Easter Brunches, Egg Hunts & Events which they describe as follows, " ... Enjoy buffet breakfast, music and dancing, then take a professional photo with the Easter Bunny that you can take home. The bike ride begins at Whitehall Ferry Terminal at the southeastern tip of Manhattan and ends at URBY, an apartment complex at 8 Navy Pier Court along the waterfront in Stapleton. • * NYC _ Monday, April 22 - Tuesday, April 30, 2024 - Passover. The Jewish celebrating their flight to freedom from slavery in Egypt thousands of years ago. Communal feasts, also known as Seders are generally held the first night.

• * Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 12 noon - 4 pm - Outdoor Market - at the Conference House Park at 7455 Hylan Blvd in the Tottenville neighborhood of Staten Island on the Great Lawn. • * Historic Richmond Town _ Thursday, July 4, 2024 from 10 am - 4 pm - Independence Day Festival at Historic Richmond Town. At Historic Richmond Town at 441 Clarke Avenue. George Washington & Benjamin Franklin and others host an Independence celebration in an historic setting with old fashioned Americana events and projects. Activities include fireworks, food, muskets and meeting artisans, tradesmen, tin makers, carpenters, broom and basket makers and visiting a native American encampment. The following will also be open in the town of living history -  Carpenter's Shop, Tin Shop, Stephen's Black House, Broom Making - Kruser-Finley House, Basket Maker's House, Pie Baking - Guyon-Lake-Tysen House, Guyon Tavern, Native Encampment and Tableaux Vivants in the Historical Museum. The Professional Wheelchairs take off at 8 am, the Handcyclists at 8.22 am, the Professional Women at 8.40 am, and the Professional Men at 9.05 am, with the last wave at 11.40 am. Staten Island is the starting poinit, while Brooklyn is the first leg, the Queens segment of the course is around the midpoint before heading into Manhattan, then north to the Bronx over the Willis Avenue Bridge, where they do a U turn by heading west over the Madison Avenue Bridge before turning south into Manhattan and Central Park.   • So you can do some math to figure out when to greet them in your borough. The fastest men complete the race in a bit more than two hours, while the average is 4 hours and 40 minutes. Nine holes of golf at the South Shore / Grand Oaks golf course. $100 ticket includes light breakfast and all you can eat bbq lunch and golf. Fundraiser for the museum. • 2023 _ AWAITING UPDATE BUT NOT LIKELY RETURNING AS WEBSITES NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND ONE OF THE PHONE NUMBERS NO LONGER IN SERVICE _ * Stapleton / Clifton _ Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 12 noon - 7 pm there's the African Festival at 450 Front Street, just across from Maker Park in the Stapleton neighborhood of Staten Island. They describe the event as follows, " ... The 2 day event is the celebration of African Culture and showcases African music, fine arts, literature, drama, dance, and fashion ...". While this is primarily a cultural festival, there will also be opportunities to purchase African food, clothing and art. Entrance Free. Organized by www.africanfestnyc.org. & http://www.nigeriancommunity.org/aboutus.html

• DISCONTINUED _ Didn't return in 2020, 2021, 2022 _ Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 10 am - 5 pm - Civil War at Historic Richmond Town - There's a historic group, Liberty Rifles, that does some historic re-enactment / dialogue of soldier life w/o the firing of the rifles. The museum, as well as about a dozen other buildings dating back from the Civil War back to Colonial times are open for viewing. There's also a gift shop and restaurant on site that will be open. Admission $8 / $6 / $5 kids. This isn't really a street fair in historic Richmond Town so much as a celebration of Staten Island and American history.

• DISCONTINUED _ Sadly, this event was Discontinued after a reported assault in 2017 between members of two motorcycle gangs [the Pagans and the Bridge Runners] _ Sunday, August 30, 2017 from 11 am - 6 pm. Bikers for Bini - At the Staten Island Mall at 2655 Richmond Avenue. Staten Island street fairs / festivals in Heartland Village / New Springville. Admission $10. See binifund.org for details.

• Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 11 am - 5 pm - Stapleton Saturdays - Along Van Duzer Street between Wright and Beach Streets in Stapleton. Live entertainment that changes about hourly through mid afternoon including musical performances and reading, as well as face painting and kids activities. • Sunday, September 26, 2021 - Offshore Wind Energy Program - begins at 2 pm - At the Lighthouse Museum at 200 The Promenade at Lighthouse Point. A talk about the emerging wind energy program in our area. Admission $10 / $5 members.

• GREENBELT SOUTH OF MANOR HEIGHTS _ Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 12 noon - 7 pm - The Rolling Thunder Oktoberfest celebration is being held at William H. Pouch Camp at 1285 Manor Road in the Greenbelt just south of Manor Heights. It was formerly held in Historic Richmond Town. There will be food, beer, rides, games, shopping and live entertainment. Entry is $10 and includes a drink. Proceeds go to Veterans in Need and it's organized by Rolling Thunder and the Rotary Clubs of Staten Island. sioktoberfest.com

• Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 9.30 am - 5 pm - Holiday Craft & Attic Treasures Fair. The fair is organized by the Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art, but the fair is held at the Immanuel Union Church at 693 Jewett Avenue in the Lighthouse Point neighborhood of Staten Island. This is a unique place where you'll find some unique arts and crafts.

• UPDATE COMING OR SEE HALLOWEEN PARTIES / EVENTS ON THIS SITE * Sunday, October 20, 2019 from 12 noon - 6 pm. National Lighthouse Museum hosts Harbor Jamm & Kids Halloween Party. This event includes a number of bands performing on Pier 1 by the Lighthouse, vendors selling crafts, clothing and gifts, and food vendors. The Kids Halloween party includes costumes, raffles, music, face painting, pumpkins. Donations go to Drug Abuse & Breast Cancer Awareness. At 200 The Promenade at Lighthouse Point in the St. George neighborhood. www.lighthousemuseum.org

• Sunday, October 6, 2019 assembling at 8.30 am / departing 10 am - Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation aka JDRF Walk - At 2800 Victory Blvd on the Willowbrook campus of SUNY Staten Island. The walk raises money via donations for the foundation to combat type 1 diabetes. Not a street fair, but a good cause. POST FACTO 2019.
