This report details a number of upcoming Memorial Day Weekend parades on Staten Island NYC.

NYC Weather Forecast as of 5.23.25. No rain Saturday, Sunday or Monday. The temperature highs will rise from 60 on Friday to about 70 for the rest of the weekend. The temperature lows will rise from the low to mid 50's Friday thru Sunday, rising to about 60 on Monday. The winds will range from 5 - 10 mph all weekend. And the humidity will remain steady all weekend at a very comfortable 50%. So, while cloudy, an almost perfect three day holiday weekend.

New Brighton / Westerleigh _ Monday, May 26, 2025 begins at 10 am and kicks off at 12 noon - The Staten Island Memorial Day Parade - At 10 am at the Granite Smith Legion Post monument in the park at Brighton Avenue and Lafayette there will be a ceremony honoring WWII Veterans. Then beginning at 12 noon at Hart Blvd and Forest Avenue in West New Brighton / Silver Lake the parade begins and marches down Forest Avenue ending at Jewett in West Brighton / Westerleigh / Elm Park. Organized by the United Staten Island Verterans Organization aka USIVO. Staten Island Fleet Week & Memorial Day parades on SI NYC. TBD _ OLD _ NOTE DATE / YEAR _ * Wednesday, May 22 - Tuesday, May 28, 2024 - Staten Island Fleet Week at the Homeport Pier on Staten Island. A number of U.S. Navy ships, Coast Guard ships, as well as a NATO ship from Germany are docked in Manhattan and Staten Island [see details above under Manhattan]. A number of events are planned in both locations, including free boat tours. TBD _ OLD _ NOTE DATE / YEAR _ * Stapleton _ Wednesday, May 22 - Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 12 noon to 5 pm - Staten Island Fleet Week Boat Tours - at Home Port Pier at 305 Front Street in Stapleton. The boats available for touring this year include the USS Marinette, The U.S Coast Guard Cutter Katherine Walker and Coast Guard Cutter Calhoun. Free. On Saturday, May 25, beginning at 12.30 pm there will be a concet at The USS Sullivan Homeport Pier at 305 Front Street. Free. Fleet Week began with a parade of ships coming into NYC Harbor Wednesday morning May 22nd. Fleet Week in NYC began in 1984, and has been held mostly continuously since then, with a few years of exceptions. Last year about 2,400 plus sailors participated, but I'm uncertain what the headcount is for 2024. In the Stapleton neighborhood at the northeast tip of Staten Island.
