Eric Adams' Charter Revision Ballot Measures 2 - 6: Don't Give Up Your Legal Rights to the Billionaires - VOTE NO
Click Links that Follow to See for Yourself
November 2, 2025 / NYC Politics / New York City News / News Analysis & Opinion / Gotham Buzz NYC.
Charter Revision Ballot Measures / One Last Betrayal of Voters by Eric Adams. Eric Adams has floated five of the six measures [#'s 2 - 6] on the November 4th Ballot, in one last service to the billionaires and real estate developers who funded his campaigns and corruption legal bills. The donors have already received numerous Adams' favors including zoning changes, tax breaks, financing and / or even public land at what appears super discount prices.
Here's what the NYC Council thought of Adams ballot proposals.
https://council.nyc.gov/press/2025/09/02/2955/
TV News is Failing you. Reasons to Vote NO on Ballot Measures 2 - 6. These ballot measures will strip you, the NYC voters, of most of your rights to legally object to any billionaire funded real estate developments in your communities. I urge you to VOTE NO on the ballot measures in order for you to maintain some sort of community control / legal rights, at a time when international money and billionaire real estate investors are hiking up the rents and cost of living here.
The graphic above or at right, was taken from the Village Preservation website, as they would like us and anyone else who's interested to help spread the word about how Eric Adams Ballot measures. Adams' Charter Ballot Revisions represent one of Eric Adams' last major efforts to aid and abet NYC and international billionaire investors and developers in being able to bulldoze through any community in NYC without obtaining much - if any - input from the community before they begin demolition and construction. Use the links below to view half hour videos, by various non profit community groups, opposing the measure.
Use One of Links Below to Learn Why You Should VOTE NO. But you don't need to trust me on this, as you can watch one of these half hour videos by different community groups explaining why you should vote against the pro billionaire developer measures, which 'working class' Mayor Eric Adams served up as an 'affordable housing fix'. To Adams 'affordable housing' usually means affordable to folks making between $100,000 and $250,000 per year.
And then Tell / Email / Text Your Family & Friends the Links. And after you inform yourself, make sure you inform your family and friends [aka We, The People] because the billionaire developers and international investors are already advertising deceitful narratives about how voting yes will be good for you - when in fact it is not. And they will use the uninformative, disinformative and distracting TV News to pummel the NYC electorate with the very dishonest, decades-old 'this is good for 'affordable housing' pitch' to convince NYC voters into giving up their rights. Why NYC should vote NO to the Charter Revision Ballot Questions November 2025.

Federal Leadership in Washington Continues to Fail the American Public
November 2, 2025 / NYC Politics / New York City News / Billionaire Press NYC Billionaire TV News / News Analysis & Opinion / Gotham Buzz NYC.
House Republican Speaker Johnson closes Congress' doors so he doesn't have to swear in the new Congresswoman from Arizona, and deal with a majority bipartisan vote to open the Epstein files to the public.
Senate Republican Majority Leader Thune keeps submitting the same bill for a vote over and over and over again [13x] getting the same result. That is the definition of insanity.
Trump flies overseas where both America's friends and foes appear to humor / deal with him like a child.
About the only thing the Republican leadership doesn't seem to be doing, is trying to find a working compromise, with the Democrats, to end the government shutdown.
TV News won't tell you this, because they don't know how to contextualize the news anymore. But Republicans control all three branches of government and have placed six of the justices on the Supreme Court. So, how some 40% of Americans can blame the Democrats for the shutdown is beyond me - except to say that they are relying far too heavily on uninformative Billionaire TV News - to be so damned ignorant, that they do not know that. They must be relying on news sources operated by billionaires like Rupert Murdoch [Fox, WSJ, NY Post, London Times, Sun, Australian] and Elon Musk [X.com] who appear to be hoodwinking them.

ICE Raid in Chinatown - Letitia James Opens Portal for ICE Complaints & Data
California Passes No Secret Police Law [aka no Masks by Law Enforcement] & Chicago Judge Mandates the Wearing of Body Cams by ICE Agents Operating in Chicago
October 22, 2025 / Manhattan Community Issues Schools News NYC / Manhattan News NYC / Manhattan Buzz NYC.
On Tuesday, October 21, 2025 there was an ICE raid in Chinatown. Masked ICE agents arrested several street vendors allegedly selling counterfeit goods along Canal Street in Chinatown. ICE reported that several had police records, but this was not confirmed in the reports I read.
The photo above or at right, was taken earlier this year of goods being sold along Canal Street in Chinatown, not far from where the ICE raid took place this past week.
ICE Raid in Chinatown Sweeps Street Vendors
https://www.thecity.nyc/2025/10/22/chinatown-ice-arrests-raid-counterfeiting-street-vendors/
A number of New Yorkers protested the raid which created a scene. In response to ICE's incursion into local law enforcement - as it is still unclear whether the vendors were here legally or illegally - was not aided nor done in tandem with the NYPD.
In order to ensure the protection of New Yorkers' rights, Attorney General [aka AG] Letitia James, set up a Federal Action Reporting Form so that people can notify the AG of actions by ICE agents of actions they believe may not be in compliance with NYS laws.

NYS - Federal Action Reporting Form
https://ag.ny.gov/federal-actions-form
It's worth noting that the State of Californai has passed a No Secret Police Act that bans the wearing of masks by all law enforcement agents, unless there are extenuating circumstances. This seems a good law - as law enforcement agents should not ashamed to the work they do. And assuming they're doing their jobs properly - which is enforcing the law - they should be proud of the work they do, and so should the community.

And in Chicago, Illinois, a judge mandated that all ICE agents there, are now required to wear body cameras. This too seems a good idea, as it should protect the citizens of Chicago from unlawful use of force by ICE. And conversely, it should also protect the ICE agents by enabling them to demonstrate in court, that they followed the law.

Local Republican Group Chat includes Racist, Sexist, Nazi-Supportive Texts
Vice President Vance Fails to Effectively Condemn Them, in a Manner Reminiscent of Trump's Response to Charlotteville in 2017, Instead Defending the Young Republicans as if Children, while Citing the Inexcusable Texts in 2022 by a Democratic Attorney General Candidate in Virgina
Mother Used to Tell me "Two Wrongs Don't Make a Right"
It's Time for 'We, The People' to Lead by Example, as Current Electeds Do Not

Just over a week ago, the texts from a group chat of Young Republicans were released. They contained a number of racist, sexist remarks, with one of the participants even telling the group that he 'loved Hitler'. And there were NYC / NYS Republicans who participated in the group chat.
At right is a video of Donald Trump in 2013 telling the interviewer that a government shutdown is "tremendously negative mark on the president". Like most of the things he says, it was another meaningless remark, designed to suit his purposes at that time.
J.D. Vance response to this news wasn't impressive, as he dismissed the chat, comparing their indiscretion, to that of under age kids. This was reminiscent of Trump's response to the Charlottesville tragedy in 2017, wherein a number of Trump supporters openly expressed their support of the White Nationalist march in Charlottesville. At one of the events surrounding the march, one of the anti-march protesters was killed by one of the white nationalist supporters when he ran his car through a crowd. Trump's response to this incident was that, "... there are good people on both sides ...". While he may be right - that there are some good people on both sides - this skirts the issue of the violent behavior by one of the white nationalists, which resulted in someone's death.
Vance also skirted the issue of bad behavior, by pointing out, accurately, that in 2022 the current Virginia Democratic Attorney General candidate had texted something, to a Republican colleague, about putting two bullets into the body of someone he didn't like, instead of putting them into anyone else. This was also an incredibly stupid comment by a government official.
Nothing violent happened in connection with the texts by the Virginia AG candidate in 2022, nor in connection with the texts of the Young Republicans, which were recently discovered and publicized.
Doing the Right Things. My Mother used to tell me that two wrongs don't make a right, and I believe this statement to be generally - but possibly not always - true. I think we all - We, The People - need to do a better job of acting like adults, meaning calling out people when they make inappropriate comments as well as for inappropriate behaviors, since our 'leaders' aren't leading by example. In a democracy we all share some small part of the credit and blame, through our actions and inactions. Democracy is a conversation and a civilly negotiated compromise. Authoritarianism is "My way or the highway" and what anybody else thinks or does, doesn't matter.

While Governor Hochul parroted the real estate developers' talking point [not plural], stating it's 'to solve the [25 year] affordable housing crisis', her statement was tepid [4th link]. But an outright NO would have been better. But all pols in NYC, NYS and the USA are challenged by the Supreme Court Citizens United decision which essentially allows the super rich billionaires to limitlessly spend to buy pols and elections, so that once in office, the pols will do whatever they want in order to get the funding to get re-elected. That said, Hochul appears to have tried to strike a balance versus press releases I've seen from the real estate industry pushing the changes in their favor.
It's worth noting that the billionaires, real estate developers, and the pols they financially support - including Eric Adams and Andrew Cuomo - have been working to solve the affordability crisis in NYC for the past twenty-five years - with something close to ZERO success. To keep letting these same people, keep feeding at the public trough [via public land transfers, tax breaks, cheap financing, government subsidies, favorable zoning changes et al], with no end in sight, makes no sense at all.

First, as noted below in the second video, House Speaker Johnson acknowledged that it was not a 'Hate America' rally. It was a peaceful protest of Trump policies that many Americans find increasingly offensive and abusive of presidential power. See report below, wherein we identify the biggest issues that the protesters have with how Trump is handling the Oval Office. Far too often, TV News distracts their audiences from important news by substituting it with sensationalist, ratings-grabbing political theatrics; instead of informing their audiences about the important issues of the day and things they should really know about the world around them.
According to the No Kings Day website, over 7 million people came out to protest Trump policies, in a strong showing of opposition to how Trump is handling the presidency. The lowest crowd size estimate that came in was around 5 million, with the consensus stating between 5 and 6.5 million people participated. The low estimate was up significantly [one million] versus the first No Kings Day protest in June 2025. Over 200 community organizations got involved. That said, it should also be said that 45% of those polled in the Real Clear poll of polls, still approve of Trump's job performance as of October 21, 2025.
The photo at right was taken in Manhattan on October 18, 2025 at the No Kings Day protest. It's estimated that somewhere between 200,000 - 300,000 people protested in Manhattan alone. There were also protests held in each borough.

Republican Majority House Speaker, Mike Johnson completely, inaccurately - and uncorrrected - told the nation on Fox TV News, that the 'No Kings Day' protests were going to be 'Hate America' rallies.
The photo at right was taken in Manhattan on October 18, 2025 at the No Kings Day protest. Please read the protester's sign, "Hate America? Nah ... We just love our country enough to demand better." Mike Johnson really should get out more.
Take note that billionaire Rupert Murdoch's Fox TV News and other outlets have a decades long history of manipulating the perceptions of their viewers, in order to seek personal / corporate gain, by manipulating what Fox TV News [NY Post & WSJ] viewers see [deletions / amplifications of false facts like this one / and distortions] to vote for Murdoch's preferred pols, who will give him what he wants from the government and the people. This is a good example of one such manipulation.

NYS Attorney General Letitia James won an appeal by the gun industry of her defense of NYS laws requiring background checks prior to purchases of ammunition. This is a paragraph taken from her website providing the background details.
"New York’s Concealed Carry Improvement Act (CCIA), enacted in July 2022, requires individuals to pass a background check when purchasing ammunition. In September 2023, the New York State Firearms Association and four individuals sued to block the enforcement of New York’s law on background checks of ammunition sales. In May 2024, Attorney General James successfully defended the law after the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York denied the plaintiffs’ motion for a preliminary injunction, finding that they had not shown any likelihood of success on the merits. Today, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit upheld the lower court’s decision."

Stagflation, Adams Tepid Endorsements but Strong Real Estate Funding & U.S. Taxpayers Funding Israeli Expansionism and Efforts to Deprive Palestinians of a Homeland
August 15, 2025 / NYC Business & Economy / NYC Politics & Government / News Analysis & Opinion / Gotham Buzz NYC.
Stagflation May be Headed our Way
It Looks Like We May be Heading for a Stagflation Economy. According to 8.15.25 Yahoo Finance report, wholesale prices rose faster than expectations, up 0.9% in July, far faster than expectations. The core rate grew 3.7% vs an expected 3%. The Fed target rate is 2%. Services, not goods, were the driving force behind the inflation increase, and services are not tied to tariffs. We might be heading into a stagflation economy, where inflation continues or picks up, while jobs growth slows, as happened this month.
The contributors to a staglationary economy include that the U.S. dollar has lost 10% of its value since the beginning of the year. This means everything purchased outside of the U.S. will essentially cost 10% more to Americans. And tariffs will eventually add further to the inflation problem by increasing the cost of goods further.
TV News doesn't seem to understand that there's a lag time between when changes in the economy occur [like tariffs or currency valuation changes], and when the impact of them shows up at the cash register. Macroeconomic lag times range from three to eighteen months as these changes work their way through the economy. And speaking of TV News, it's worth mentioning that a stagflationary economy would be just the opposite of the 'Trump Economy' touted by Fox News during the Fall 2024 campaign cycle. For details see - https://finance.yahoo.com/news/why-hotter-than-expected-wholesale-prices-make-the-feds-september-rate-cut-decision-harder-155711746.html
Eric Adams Support Seems Fueled by Narrow Self Interests
Is Eric Adams Recycling Faith Based Campaign Endorsements? About a week ago, Eric Adams announced that he was being endorsed by 100 faith based leaders. The endorsements appeared to come from some of the same people who've been supporting Adams all along, some of whom I've seen at various mayoral events, and some of whom I believe stood with him when he announced his re-election bid as an Independent in June of 2025.
Earlier this week Adams also picked up an endorsement from former NYS Democrat Governor Paterson, who is legally blind, and who switched his allegiance from Cuomo in the Democratic primary, to Adams running as an Independent.
A group of police unions also endorsed Adams this week, but notably missing was the largest NYC police union, the NYPBA. The NYPBA had previously endorsed Adams in the 2021 election, reportedly unenthusiastically. This may be why the NYPBA is holding back their endorsement again, or it could be that the NY Patrolmens Benevolent Association union is not happy that Adams has sullied the name of the NYPD, having been charged in a lawsuit with turning the NYPD into his own personal "racketeering enterprise".
